We label exactly what we've checked

Most sites show a single "verified" tick. Medoc shows four clear levels, so you know whether a profile was copied from public data or checked against the medical register, before you visit.

The process

How a listing moves up

  1. Claim the listingThe provider proves control with an OTP to the listed phone, a link to the listed email, or business documents. The badge becomes Claimed.
  2. Submit documentsFrom their dashboard: identity, practice address proof, and (for doctors) their registration certificate.
  3. A person reviews themOur team checks the documents, usually within 2 working days. Nothing is approved automatically.
  4. Registration checkFor doctors, we match the name, registration number and council against the State Medical Council or NMC Indian Medical Register.
  5. Badge and date shownThe profile shows the level reached and when it was last checked.
  6. Re-checked when things changeA change of key details, or a report from a patient, triggers another review. Badges can be removed.
Our rules

What verification is not

Never for sale

Verification is free. Paid plans add visibility, never a badge. Featured and Sponsored listings are always labelled.

Not a quality rating

A badge confirms facts we checked, not how good a doctor is. Read reviews and ask questions too.

Not an official registry

Medoc is a discovery platform. Official records are kept by the NMC, State Medical Councils and ABDM.

Open to correction

Anyone can report incorrect information. A person reviews every report.

Check it yourself

Don't just take our word for it

Every doctor's profile shows their registration number and council when they've shared it. You can look it up on the official registers:

Spotted something wrong?

Use Report incorrect information on any profile, or write to us. We review every report and may ask the provider for evidence.

Questions

Frequently asked

Is a "Registration verified" doctor better than others?
No. The badge only tells you that the registration details on the profile matched an official register when we checked. It says nothing about clinical skill or outcomes. Use reviews, experience and your own judgement too.
Can a provider pay to get verified?
No. Verification is free and is never part of a paid plan. Featured and Sponsored placements are paid, are always labelled, and do not change a verification badge.
How long does verification take?
Our team usually reviews documents within 2 working days. Registration checks can take longer if the online register is unavailable or details need clarifying.
Do badges ever change?
Yes. We re-check when a provider changes key details or when someone reports incorrect information. A badge can be removed if details no longer match.
How can I check a doctor myself?
Search the National Medical Commission's Indian Medical Register or the relevant State Medical Council website using the doctor's name or registration number shown on their profile.
What should I do if a profile looks wrong?
Use "Report incorrect information" on the profile or contact us. Reports are reviewed by a person, and the provider may be asked for evidence.
